Don't Just Study FileMaker, Learn FileMaker
I don't love studying. I hate studying. I like learning. Learning is beautiful.
Natalie Portman's quote reminds us that we don't want to just study FileMaker. Instead, we want to learn FileMaker. Learning FileMaker is beautiful.
I really enjoy Natalia Portman as an actress, but I admire her even more for her academic achievements. In high school, Portman actually skipped the premiere of her film Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, to study for her exams. And as a Harvard College graduate, Portman has co-authored research papers, lectured at ivy league schools, and has studied at least five foreign languages.
It's safe to say that Natalie knows a little bit about studying - enough to know she hates it.
In fact, the definition of studying is "the devotion of time and attention to acquiring knowledge on an academic subject, especially by the means of books" or "a detailed investigation and analysis of a subject or situation".
This sounds incredibly boring if you ask me.
Learning, on the other hand, is much more intriguing. It means to "gain or acquire knowledge of or skill in something, by study, experience or being taught" or "to become aware of something".
Our name grasp is actually a synonym to the verb "to learn", and it means "to get mental hold of, or comprehend fully".
At Grasp, you aren't just going to study FileMaker. We know you would just hate that. Instead, you are going to really learn FileMaker.
