"I am not a teacher, but an awakener."
Probably most well-known for his poem "The Road Not Taken", Robert Frost was an American writer and poet. In this quote, Robert Frost denies his title as a teacher, and instead refers to himself as an "awakener".
By definition, an awakener is someone who makes someone aware of something for the first time - who arouses, evokes, triggers, stirs, stimulates, kindles or revives.
Contrast this meaning to that of a teacher, or someone who shows and explains to others how to do something.
At Grasp Learning, we want to be more than just teachers. It is not enough for us to just show you how to use FileMaker. Instead, we want to awaken and stimulate your mind. We want to expose you to new ways of thinking and developing. We want to show you how to solve problems with FileMaker.
Yes, there will be a lot of teaching a long the way - but our most important goal is to help you to truly grasp the inner workings of FileMaker Pro.
Have you had the pleasure of studying with an awakener? Tell us how they impacted your learning in the comments below.
